Due to its widespread recognition and adaptability, Holtrop and Mennen’s method was chosen as the initial approach for predicting hull resistance. LEEDS encompasses every version of this method (1977, 1978, 1982, 1984, 1988).
Holtrop and Mennen’s method calculates a total resistance, further broken down into distinct components. This approach was also employed in the modelling. Each of these components is calculated separately and then summed to obtain the total resistance. The formulas involve numerous parameters, systematically organized within a Modelica Record.
